Today is the last day to get 50% off of Affinity software for anyone looking for Adobe alternatives. (They're just $25 each for desktop / $10 each for iPad versions)
Thanks, @CLCanadyArts for posting about this sale a few months ago!

Serif has a suite of programs called Affinity that are similar to the Adobe programs (and can read & save as PSD, PDF, JPG, TIFF, SVG, EPS, etc.). All three programs are available for a free trial, and/or 50% off (until June 20th, including other content such as iPad versions, extra brushes, textures, & font bundles)

Affinity Photo (similar to Adobe Photoshop - Photo editing & digital painting)
      Info/Overview: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/photo/
FREE trial https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/90-day-affinity-trial/ (you just have to give them your email).

It has some cool features. You can check out short videos about different features/tools here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/photo/desktop/

Affinity Designer (similar to Adobe Illustrator - Vector graphics)
      Info/Overview: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer/
      FREE trial: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/supporting-the-creative-community/

      Demo Videos: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/designer/desktop/
Illustrator can apply raster effects, but Designer can also paint with raster brushes onto vector graphics! see the tutorial here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/designer/desktop/video/338830412/)

Affinity Publisher (similar to Adobe InDesign)
      Info/Overview: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/publisher/
      FREE trial: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/supporting-the-creative-community/

      Demo Videos: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/publisher/desktop/

Plus, if you have one or both of the other programs, you can edit images from Publisher, instead of having to switch programs & import the new image! StudioLink is explained briefly in the UI (User Interface) video (04:15 min.): https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/publisher/desktop/video/285242938/, & these demo videos (about 2 to 5 min. each): https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/publisher/desktop/category/studiolink-interworking-with-designer-and-photo

Thanks for the heads up! I purchased all three desktop apps a couple of months ago and I'm pretty happy with them so far (great Adobe alternative for my needs). I'm tempted to get their iPad apps as well.

@miranda-hoover - You're welcome! I got all of them as well (plus the iPad ones), and I'm enjoying them.

I did run into one problem when I tried to flip a selection. It kept flipping the whole image. Then I realized it just needs to be pasted onto a separate layer, so a few things will take getting used to, but at least I figured it out--with some help from the Affinity forum. 🙂
