@demotlj Another reason it helps me to prep ahead if time, is because it makes me much more motivated to start. I really look forward to that time when I do this. I am never motivated to exercise. I can't even begin to understand how anyone is, so that won't work for me. What I do is handle it like I was at work - Stay organized, plan ahead, and start each day with a clean work area. I even have folders for my personal projects, ideas etc. One day if I get clients I think this structure will help.

@Coreyartus I looked for that today and I didn't see it as one of my choices. Maybe I missed it. Thanks for sharing.

@neschof that is the best kind of feedback, when someone understands the "feel" you are trying to go for 😃 Thank you so much for your kind words.

@Lee-White Thank you so much for this course. I really enjoyed it and will definitely be mindful of using the lights and shadows in my illustration. I had a similar question to @Lucelfo about adding color. It seems like a lot of work to do greyscale first and then another completely different piece in color. I am not sure if I am reading your reply to @lucelfo correctly that you use the same greyscale piece and then add color to it opaquely? Will that actually keep any of the effects of multiply and overlay layers? I have never done the greyscale study so I can see the benefits of it after taking your class. I would like to learn how to take a piece of greyscale illustration to color in a resonably quick way. Thank you for the class.

I had to send this in by email back on December 31st. I signed up for the forum and didn't realize my membership had to await an approval process. Regardless, now that I have forum access, I figured I should post it properly alongside the others. Loving all the different interpretations!

Not sure if this is a proper place to post this - but here I’ve attempted to address some of the compositional critiques Lee and Will offered during the Slowvember crit.

That was a critique of extraordinary magnitude.
      They have my gratitude.

I don't think we are going to do the critique arena style crit for slowvember because everyone's work and themes are so different. So I may do crits and some draw overs for this one. Not totally sure. I'll make the final judgement on judging (is that a thing?) when everyone turns in their work next week. : )

@Lee-White You're right, of course! Sometime today I will move on. I wanted to linger a while because I think my problem is often at the beginning or the very end.

Update: Thumbnail shortlist posted in WIP thread!

slowvember updates. Here's my progress and where my painting is at now. I always keep a frame handy to see what it looks like on the wall and finished. It makes it easier to make decisions at the end.
