      Hi guys! 👋 😃 Those of you who use Procreate might be interested... I just stumbled across designcuts.com for the first time following links for some recommended digital brushes from an old Youtube video and they happen to be running a Procreate Event at the moment (until Sunday 30th August) with free live tutorials and deals on brush packs.

      Personally, I have been resisting purchasing brushes because they can be damn expensive and I know I’ll eventually become more proficient at developing my own but I have been on the lookout for some realistic looking watercolour brushes and was thrilled to score a set of 68 for US$5 (at 75% off because I bought a few different sets at once 🤦♀ 😆 but no regrets, I’m using Procreate more already!)

      The Live Tutorial videos look fairly interesting (lots on Lettering if that’s your thing..) and can also be viewed in retrospect in the ‘Learn’ section of the website.

        I've found that tweeking purchased brushes and adjusting them to my own needs, replacing brush tips shapes and such can really open up the possibilities for their use. Getting a good set of brushes to build on just to see how they're put together is always a great educational experience. Thanks for the link!

          That’s part of the reasoning I used to convince myself that buying some brushes would be a good investment 😆 I have played around with a few tweaks to modify existing brushes but I still don’t really know what I’m doing.. There are so many different properties involved that I was getting impatient knowing I would have to dedicate time to learning the skill when I really just want to prioritise learning to actually draw/paint digitally first. Baby steps - I have such a lot to learn and I am astonished that some people are skilled enough to create brushes that mimic real-life watercolour effects 🤯
