      Hi everyone,
I'm interested in purchasing the Canon Pixma Pro 10s and i'm wondering if it's compatible with my Mac OS El Capitan Version 10.11.6. I asked the place where I'm interested in getting the printer who said it is and yet it's not in their list of compatible systems for this printer. I've been looking online and can't seem to find anywhere that says it is compatible. So I'm wondering if anyone here knows? Obviously I'm a bit worried since it's such a big expense. Thanks for any help!!

I think you should be fine. (Please note that I'm not a printer expert so maybe other people should weigh in.)

I just looked at the "official" Pixma Pro 10's specifications for Mac on the Canon site, and they are SUPER old OS..es ... 10.5-9? Not sure why Canon didn't future-proof the list of operating systems. For example, Windows 10 isn't on the list either, but I have to think that works as well. The Pro-10 has the same OS specs as my Pro-100, which works fine with the OS 10.14 that I'm running.

Also that's very exciting you found a Pro-10 in the wild! It's the model I was looking for but with the mass shortages that have been going on, I opted for the Pro-100.

@Rachel-Horne You can find the driver here for Canon Pro 10s for your MacOS if it doesn't automatically install:

@akpcreates thanks so much. I've since seen on the Canon website that I'll apparently need to download a driver. Sounds pretty straightforward.
Are you in the US? Maybe that's why. Luckily here in Europe we've not suffered from shortages too much. Hope the Pro-100 is working well for you all the same 🙂

@Rachel-Horne Yep, I'm in the US. Both the 100 and 10 have been largely out of stock for a while, but when a 100 became available, I went ahead and got it. Really like the quality, even if it isn't archival.

@akpcreates that's great - it's so hard choosing a printer and the decent ones are so expensive!
