So I narrowed it down to three and did a more fleshed out drawing. Looking for a W here. Which is the clear winner in the contest?
Btw, @burvantill @Chip-Valecek my SVS categories have never shown the “serious critique” option, otherwise I would choose it.

C is for me the distinct winner! I like the modern twist of it.
To me, A is not as strong (it took me a few seconds to figure out what was happening in the picture). It misses the dynamism of the interraction between the child and the fairy we see in the two other pictures.
B is good, but C is funny. I definitely vote for C! -
@chrisaakins i love the story on C. I haven't seen this before.
