@danielerossi Sorry I was searching in page for the keyword "media", and somehow the search result was like what I quoted ...

I had some plans to do some sketches in september to prepare for inktober. I was in my illustrator cave with multiple deadlines, so no inktober sketches came out.

I am really not sure what I would do for inktober this year. I love inktober, and really want to participate, but time is a big issue for me at this moment. And I am not a quick drawer.

Right now I am thinking maybe I use the opportunity to explore a world, and some characters to prepare for pitching a story.

@ajillustrates Are you going to do one large piece, or multiple/daily pieces?

              • I’m going the absolutely laziest route, because it’s the only way that I’ll be able to participate! That is, I’ve collected a months worth of sketches that I’ve already completed for some other purpose and then stuffed in my flat files and I plan on inking all of them. I just don’t have the time to create a new image every day! I tried last year and failed miserably and the images that I was able to create I wasn’t happy with anyway.
              1. Will you be sticking to the prompt list?

Maybe?? I may try adding something around each of these pre-sketched pictures that goes along with the prompt list so that I can run along with everyone else. If that’s too time consuming for me or tiring I won’t do it.

              2. Will you be planning/sketching ahead of time, or will you be winging it daily (I think both approaches have their value, depending on your immediate goals)?

Already got the sketches! I will probably be inking ahead of time too because I will most likely still get behind at some point. (Does that count? šŸ˜‚)

              3. What is the main thing you want to take away from the experience (practice, project, increased exposure, etc.)?

Exposure. Not that followers truly matter?? Do they?? I don’t know... But also I just really want to be a part of a community...I’m really suffering through these months of not being able to get out and connect with fellow artists like usual!! Let’s be friends!!

Really great to see what everyone is doing this year!

@ajillustrates said in Who's doing Inktober 2020, and what are your plans?:

Are you going to do one large piece, or multiple/daily pieces?

I am doing 31 separate pieces. All will be 11x11. (except the first one. it is 8.5 x 8.5 because I thought I wanted to do that size, but it turns out that's a little too small fo rthe kind of detail I want to have in my pieces.

Will you be sticking to the prompt list?

                As best as I can!

Will you be planning/sketching ahead of time, or will you be winging it daily (I think both approaches have their value, depending on your immediate goals)?

I already have 11 of them sketched out...and INKED. My schedule is such that I need to get a head start if I'm going to be able to post daily.

What is the main thing you want to take away from the experience (practice, project, increased exposure, etc.)?

I am building out a world for a new book I want to do and so my goal is to put my main characters in situations and settings that I'd like to incorporate into a larger story, or at least a series proposal for publishers.

Yeah, this'll be my first time. I'm planning on doing a daily single-panel comic. To answer your questions:

                  1. I'll be doing daily posts
                  2. I'll be sticking to the prompt list
                  3. I'm concepting the pieces now, but will sketch, ink and color (with ink) each day for the following day's post
                  4. The main thing I'm looking to take away from this is to get better with the ink brush. A close second would be to actually just finish a project. I tend to flit on to the next idea before fully completing the previous one.

I finally decided after listening to the 3 point perspective Kickstarter podcast that I need to build up my base. I got and get a lot of Instagram love every time I post about the mice I created last year. I think this year I am going to continue the mouse theme but do it in #fauxinktober style with @Nyrryl-Cadiz and company. I will stick to the prompts but try to create portfolio pieces with full rendering. I probably won’t be able to do every day with October’s busy schedule but you never know. I already started working on them and can’t wait to share them. I do inktober in my high school drawing class that I teach. They pick between a 5k (a prompt each week) a10k( 2 prompts a week) a half marathon (every other day) or the full marathon. They have to post their work on our class discussions board. The best part is that it’s a good excuse to draw at work! The kids keep me accountable, too.

This is gonna be my 3rd year doing inktober. Last year I got the opportunity to meet Jake Parker at the NYC inktober event he hosted. It was really fun. This year im doing watercolors and ink. Im playing with different watercolor sets to see how they look and feel (not the expensive artist grade ones though) and doing frog themed inktober. Last year i did gnomes. We’ll see how this year’s turns out!

will there be a "official" inktober thread where everyone posts theire stuff or is it community driven and one of us has to open one?

@Molambo thats a great idea! Would a single Inktober thread be good or would it be better if there was a new one each week? One per day seems like it might be a little much.

This will be my first year doing Inktober. I am theme-ing the whole thing with the word ā€œVoteā€ and voting encouragement, cause I think it’s important to vote! I have already completed about 11 inked drawings! I am super excited. I am hastagging it all with #votetober too if anyone else wants to make a voting piece.

And I am doing them all traditionally with Copic multiliners and markers. A little brush pen too.

Hey guys!!! I am doing Inktober this year. My theme is Little Witches in their cute and creepy world. I want to add some new Halloween art to my portfolio. I have drawn some very rough sketches and will do most of the picture making in October alongside making a picture book dummy. I will post every other day so will create 16 ink pictures in total. Really looking forward to see what awesome art illustrators create this year!!!

I am going to follow the prompt list ans plan to complete it this year.
I have a style of illustration that I don't do much lately that I would like to get back too so I plan to do that but I think I want to do the official prompts and link each image together somehow in a kind of ethereal dream like way.
There may be some fairies involved and I might do all of them on one surface rather than individual surfaces but I would post each section for each day.
I think I will try to draw this out ahead of time so I can ink a section at a time.
                                            Ohhh better get drawing then.

                                            Looking forward to it.
