Picture Book Writer.

Good day to everyone!
I am a Picture Book Writer from Newfoundland Canada.
I have two completed manuscripts,
One of which has been sent to publishers, one is “in the drawer” for 6 weeks and I have begun work on a third.
Why am I here.... to learn a little about illustration from a Picture Book writers perspective.
At this point I don’t plan on illustrating my own MS, however I feel there is much to be gained by examining and exploring the two mediums together.
I have started the curriculum but if anyone has advice to a PB writer as to what might be helpful here at SVS please share.

I have only done a petite amount of writing for PB. I focus more on illustrating for hopefully one day PB. My thoughts would be to look at others PB writers who also illustrate their own books (Writing Picture Books -Ann Whitford Paul) and also look at how the text is designed to work with the illustrations.

This community is solid and it would be great also for us to learn from you.

I should clarify that I’m still in process of submission to publishers but hoping to be in the acquisition process soon! Fingers crossed!
