Hello this is a scene that I illustrated for a faux children's book I made back in 2018 when I was first becoming a professional illustrator. I put this in my online portfolio, but some of my art from that year might be outdated.
How would you improve this piece today?
This scene is trying to portray the long-term consequences of colonization to a country in the modern-day by illustrating the sadness, poverty, attitudes, and other issues, conveyed through dim and muted colors and lighting.
