@Braden-Hallett Wow, to me, this concept of school kids in the throws of their make-believe world is so well done here.
You let a kid watch, like, ONE episode of Game of Thrones... ONE episode.

Wow @Kevin-Longueil! He is definitely interesting!
-
Hi @Braden-Hallett, your comics are great! I love the character designs and expressions you seem to master with ease. Iโm working on expression sheets; do you recommend any books, references?

Thanks man
These days I don't use much reference for facial expressions (though I'm sure I should). I do, however, tend to make the face I'm illustrating as I draw it. Which makes for some very awkward coffee shop sketching...
I used to reference this book once in a while, and I'm sure it'll come in handy again someday, though.

Best wishes for the new year everyone! :-]
I'm currently trying to wrap up @shanehunt's vehicle design class (which I think is super awesome). This weird hybrid is part of the penultimate assignment: merging two boats using reference.

I am starting a new book for an indie author, just completed the character design, will be moving on to the cover sketches -
@Gabby-Correia really cute! If the character is anything to go by, this looks like it'll be a really fun book to illustrate. Great job!

Giants!

Wow, there are so many great pieces here! It's definitely making me want to step up my game!
Since I couldn't do the Inktober prompts that I created for 2020 due to an injury, I've been trying to go back and redo them. They're based off of iconic themes and character types of the 1920s (I made the list back when I thought 2020 was going to be a great year, haha). This one was supposed to be Day 4: The "It" Girl (based off of Clara Bow).
I've been experimenting with my new iPad and Adobe Fresco...I'm in love with both!

Quick colour study for the first page of my viking Hansel and Gretel

First illustration for 2021 is my entry in the Robot Arena Deathmatch Character Design Challenge.

Hereโs a snippet of a character Iโve been working on. Will hopefully have more of her in the future.
-
@Braden-Hallett I love anything Viking or Norse related. Hope Iโll get to see more!

Workin' away!

@Kevin-Longueil wow amazing textures!

Playing around with storytelling and painting.

This month I finished up the gesture drawing course! Here are two pages of super rough sketches I did for the class

Been working on art for a new 2021 project in partnership with my hubby. (pray for me
) focused on bite sized reminders to take care of your mental health. Mostly created to help myself but hopefully it helps others too. Called the mindful otter if you want to follow me on Instagram. @the.mindful.otter
Trying to sketch my character in different poses so I can do different things with him/her.
