 I like that itβs a spot illustration!

 @LisaF Can we maybe have @Chip-Valecek edit the original post to reflect both your comments? That might keep some who might not read everything still have the prompt correct.
-

 @Griffin great minds. I just posted the same things only slower! Haha!

 @LisaF I have been doing spot illustrations so I'll pass on this one. Is there a vignette in the works? Then I might start to plan a design for a yeti, since I haven't participated as of yet.

 @K-Flagg lols I have too many spot illustrations in my portfolio so I am passing but I am sure you could make something, just simplify and make sure all the important parts of your story is in it. I hope you change your mind.

 @Heather-Boyd lol I didn't realized I was missing a word in my post (which totally made the context seem negative ). I meant to say I'm not sure HOW I want to approach this now. lol sorry if I sounded like a jerk, I am working on my entry now. ). @Heather-Boyd just curious what's the difference between a spot illustration and a vignette?
-

 @KaraDaniel said in FEBRUARY CONTEST: YETI COOKING: ...what's the difference between a spot illustration and a vignette? As far as I understand it a spot illustration is a small free-floating image of a particular object or character, usually without a background, sometimes with defined borders around the image, whereas a vignette does have a background, but the image border is faded or only loosely defined.

 @dafoota No worries...neither did mine

 Is it o.k to add or/and change a couple of words in the text as long as it has the same gist? Or is the text that Will Terry gave set in stone?
-

 @LisaF I've only just nearly finished the first Yeti challenge! I don't think anyone would hire me to illustrate a whole book
-

 Pretty excited about this! New to the forum and working on my drawing. I am excited to see what y'all come up with.
-

 Well...Throwing this out there... Apparently this Yeti likes to cook!

 Just in case you are unfamiliar with spot illustrations, they often have broken edges, and little to no background. In case you need one, here's an example of a spot illustration, from one of Lee's books:
