Little Imp I made -
Hi everyone, some great work posted this month.
I've been working on some characters this month too. Haven't specifically done the class work, but really happy for the 'bean' shape tip
This is an idea I'm playing around with for the SCBWI prompt 'my secret identity'; a masquerade party for kids. I'm also working on the Plum Awards - Jason and the Golden Fleece.
And I will get onto that pesky yeti cooking, honestly, I'm finding the yeti theme quite difficult. Better get craking - February is slipping by....
-
@Emma-Echter oh hey I didn't know Plum Pudding was holding a competition. Sounds fun!
-
@donnamakesart Yeah, I was really happy I found out with more than 2 weeks to deadline this year! I entered last year, the theme was Mary Poppins, lots of fun too.

Im doing a business course to push myself as an illustrator and working on opening a Redbubble shop. Iβm trying to create a βbrandβ for myself. Working on a cover image to use on my website/Twitter/LinkedIn as I have been advised to make all sites look coherent. Unfortunately every site has a different size for the cover image so Iβm going to have to tweak each one
I also need to practice drawing people, something I put off EVERY month!
-
@lizardillo this banner is fresh!!!love the shapes!!
-
Buiding some prints material for my upcoming website!!
This one is a fanart of Onepiece! -
@chrisaakins wow this is beautiful!
-
Currently I'm working on another fan art piece from The Last Unicorn. It's pretty big but I am really happy with how it's turning out so far.
-
While Iβm not doing nearly as many finished pieces this month as I did last month I thought Iβd share the first draft of my next book cover!
-
@Emma-Echter Iβm feeling a little burnt out with the yeti theme too.
-
@K-Flagg Love this! That's my favorite book/movie/etc
-
Doing some before and after posts on Instagram after reworking old pieces. I'm going to post this one later today, though I may rework the shadow first. The original piece is rectangular and so I extended it:

Apparently the february yeti prompt and my dog made an impact to my art...
Just a warm up that might, or might not be something.. -
So I'm making the jump from Adobe to Affinity products (because the cost for Adobe is crazy for someone just starting out and only needs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and tested out Affinity Photo last night. Went for a poor man's Kim jung gi approach with nothing specific in mind. I think I'm mostly happy with Affinity Photo for my needs. As another thread pointed out it's 50% and there's a 90 day free trial so there's not too much to lose.
-
@HeatherBouteneff Thanks Heather! Mine too! I'll post the final pics when I get it finished.
-
Middle grade interiors in a vacuum didn't make much sense, so I'm making some mock ups.
-
I wanted to fill my Instagram with photobombing pets so I started a dtiys
-
A sketch I prepared for a watercolour/gouache + color pencil painting. Well, I actually do not know what I am going to use to paint it. I just want to do the painting traditionally.
-
@xin-li this idea is great! I can't wait to you finish it traditionally ...it will be gorgeous
