Working on an illustration I am calling Old Salt.
The idea is of a tired Pirate making friends with a parrot. Gives him a new direction in life. I plan on adding evidence of his pillaging ways. Scars, rum, sword, etc. -

I made a color version of Squashly just for fun. I really like his personality. I picture him as coming to life every year on September 1st and returning to the pumpkin patch at midnight on all hallows eve.

This work came out of Assignment #3 of Shane Hunts Effective Vehicle Design class. I had some difficulty with simplifying what elements I wanted from 2-3 boats. I made a far more complicated design and then took a step back and rethought. I will need to put more of what I learned from what I was suppose to have done in this assignment into the following ones.
This illustration came from a combination of reading The Wind in the Willow and a poor squirrel we have seen in our neighborhood who had lost the use of both his back legs and dragged himself around.
We haven't seen him lately.
