      Hey guys.

I'm working one two different things here. The first would be a christmas Card. I wounder if i could make it a bit more intereseting. What would you say?

Second, i am participating in a coloring book and came up with this witchy little scene, i thought about making the book and the mouse a little bit bigger, what would you say so far?
      Do you have any thoughts?

Hi @von_Nimmermehr I like your card. I think you might eliminate the pattern of the trees behind the snow globe. It’s a nice enough pic with out them and they feel distracting to me. As far as making it interesting you could add a little character in the snow globe.

Hi @von_Nimmermehr, I think adding something unexpected to the card might make it more special. I like Chris's idea of adding a figure, and if you really want to mix it up, you could add a fish in a Santa hat (to riff on the fish bowl look) or make the little figure really curious about what's outside the snow globe. I know many cards are mostly for nostalgia, but these a just a couple of quick thoughts if you want to "shake up" your scene!

I also think that making the mouse and book bigger would help the viewer know where to focus in the coloring page.

Your pencil drawings have a nice feel! I look forward to seeing how this proceeds!

The composition of the pencil sketch is better balanced than the pen artwork. I can see this as a screenprint illustration. I think the strung stars break the believability of the snow globe. Could the stars be freefalling, or maybe as ornaments on the trees? For the chimney smoke, perhaps it can be very tiny bubbles?

From the pen drawing, I would keep the house design and how you used a grainy medium for the shadows.

I agree that the concept is generic. Would you be interested in putting more emphasis on Germanic traditions in the piece (a historic German cottage, a wooden reindeer toy from the night market, etc).

For the coloring book piece, I think the composition needs to be re-worked; the smoke and pot is too centered. The rodent doesn’t need to be bigger. I’m not a practitioner of adult coloring books, but I think people like to color in tiny shapes (like Van Gogh style) on the page.

Thank you so far for the critique @chrisaakins @LauraA and @willicreate. I thought about it and will see what i will do 🙂

I think i was'nt clear enough though. The snow globe will be full colored so i thought the trees in the background wouldnt be too eye-catching.

Both snow globe pictures are just sketches for me, i just want to have my sketch right it not the finished piece.

i want it all colorfull like every year 😃 Thats my Christmas Card from 2019

Also i think your thoughts are right on the Van Gogh style, but since it is a coloring book for Tattoo Fans from a special Website here in Germany and they did choose me because of me and my style i wouldnt change the style. I should be more spicific next time. I didn't think it would matter. Because in my head it was all clear. Thanks for your in put you guys!

@von_nimmermehr hi. I’ve been trying to learn how to make good coloring pages lately and I think yours is perfect. The details are the right size to be enjoyable to color but not so small they would be tedious. The lines have a nice variety and flow well. And the scene is a peaceful world to enter as someone colors it.
