This really tells the story now, the addition of the carved floor really helps show the force and movement 🚀

On SVS learn, there was a course where @Lee-White spoke about portraying a story just before or just after the event has happened. I think you've nailed that concept here pal.

Thank you @Asyas_illos @lizardillo and @mymightypencil ! I really appreciate the encouragement. I made a bit more progress today:

For my process I’m doing local color first and then going in and adding the values and scorching.

I haven’t done the kiddo’s face yet. But I really like his expression. I can hear him saying’ “COOOooooooL!” Because every pyromaniac kid has said the same thing when they launched something flaming and dangerous into the atmosphere. Especially when it surprised them with the awesomeness of its power.

@chrisaakins I think it looks really cool. And funny. The only thing I was going to suggest was to maybe making that shadow into a rocket shape or something. But, I was thinking that before you added the trench. I don’t know if I would work now. It’s clear what it is and that it was moving fast. 🙂

@chrisaakins this is great, I think we’ll be seeing this in the top 16! I love the off camera story telling, I’m planning something similar with mine.

@chrisaakins I think this looks great! Only one tiny thing drew my eye and that is the little flame on his hair. Is his hair really on fire or is that flame connected to the flame in the background by the trench? Maybe just some smoldering coming off his hair would be better....hair incinerates pretty darn fast.

@larue since that was one of my favorite things about it, I think I will keep it. It makes me laugh.
