Graphic design for illustrators?

Can anyone recommend a self-guided online course on Graphic Design, or even just general design fundamentals, aimed at illustrators?
On SVS I see Logo Design for Illustrators, but I'm hoping for something broader and more general than that.
The Illustration Dept lists a class on Typography and Design for Illustrators, but the class isn't available. I've signed up for a wait list.

@Valerie-Light What's is exactly you are looking to make? Maybe if you tell what your aim is it may be easier to help you.

It's not that I want to make something specific. I want to better understand how a book designer or a graphic designer plans a project. Hopefully this can help me when I design for text placement. I also don't know enough about file types, fonts, color gamuts, and just general freshman year type of graphic design fundamentals. -
@Valerie-Light The only thing that I may know about right now is a webinar schoolism recently got out, it's going to be online until 7/3, not sure if you could also see it on your dashboard? I mean, if you get to register on schoolism. If you register and don't have the notification on your dashboard I will just share the link and password to zoom so you can watch the webinar.

@Eliana-Bastidas I love Anoosha Syed! I searched for the class you described, but the one I found seems to be an interview with her and not a graphic design class?

READ and STUDY children's books (or the genre you want to illustrate/design). Seriously, you'll learn so much.

Check out these books (they're old but have great information): Picture This: How Pictures Work by Molly Bang, Art and Design in Children's Picture Books by Lyn Ellen Lacy, and Bookmaking: The Illustrated Guide to Design/Production/Editing by Marshall Lee. The last one's a beast; haven't made it through that one myself yet.

To learn general graphic design principles, Satori Graphics on YouTube is very informative and easily digestible.
This might be a little more in-depth than you were looking for, because it isn't just one class, but it will give you a solid knowledge base. And if you have any questions, feel free to pick my brain -- happy to help if I can!

@Melissa_Bailey This is a great list, Melissa! Thanks for linking everything. Molly Bang's book really opened my eyes to the power of composition a few years ago, and I'm definitely due for a reread. I'll check out the other two you recommend.
Satori Graphics seems to be pretty close to what I'm looking for right now. I'll spend some time with those.
