@braydin-hawlette love the paper texture and how it looks like a carved ink print. It looks like you approach it like a print carving, lay everything in black and then erase to carve out the drawing. Is that how you do it?

@Griffin-McPherson Pretty much, yes! I have a black background and then I paint white shapes

@braydin-hawlette Wow! So that's what's up there above the clouds. Really awesome piece. I love how you've done so many renditions, and the last one is definitely my favorite.
One thing to mention in case it's helpful to you: I could just not understand aerodynamics very well, but it appears that the sail and flag are at odds, and I can't tell which way the wind is blowing. Maybe it's just part of the magical world up there. Hope that's useful. Thanks for sharing your process.
And of course, get well soon!!

@KathrynAdebayo Good point! I was thinkin' that a flag would stream behind them if they were goin' super fast but it's the wind that's blowing them so of course not!
Good catch
I may just remove the flag, honestly!

@braydin-hawlette I don't know, Braden. Now I'm trying to look up pictures and videos because my brain really wants to understand how the flag moves in relation to the ship! I think the way you have it drawn originally is actually definitely possible... especially if the wind isn't blowing super hard. And the clouds suggest that it's not, to my eye. The flag adds such a great element to your silhouette... now I'd suggest leaving it in.

@KathrynAdebayo lol. Yeah, I'll think on it. At the end of the day streaming flags are cool
