@AngelinaKizz that book looks really good! Do you have "Picture This: How Pictures Work?" that's another good one. I also like the Sketching from The Imagination books.

@kirsten-mcg I don't have those! I just looked them up and now want both (a full set of the sketching from imagination only counts as one book right?) ! Haha

@AngelinaKizz haha that's the risk of asking for book recommendations i guess! Good luck convincing your husband. 😁

I couldn't begin to pick one, I have SO SO many, shelves and shelves of art books. Between me and my fiancé it's become a bit of a problem as we've run out of shelf space to put them.

But, a few I really like that I've recently acquired from Flesk Publishing. I'm putting the links in but I'm in no way associated with them, so this isn't a sales pitch or anything haha. I mean, I highly recommend, and Flesk is a fantastic publisher, so there is that... anyway.

              Franklin Booth Silent Symphony
An absolute stunning collection of illustrations by one of the absolute best to do it.

              The Jeffery Alan Love Library
I really just wanted one of Love's brilliant books but to get all 3 of these for such a deal was to much to pass up.

The Drawings of Edwin Austin Abbey
Another stunning pen and ink artist who's work and attention to detail are just incredible.

Art of Gary Gianni for George R. R. Martin’s Seven Kingdoms
This is a beautifully illustrated book for anyone interested in the world of Westeros and seeing someone's take on that world that is not influenced by the TV shows. It's nice having a fresh look and the illustrations are just amazing.

Hello - I just got Drawing for Illustration by Martin Salisbury, a good all round one about illustration in general though I haven't read it all yet but it's full of beautiful images which is always good! I would also recommend Picture This and Steal Like an Artist 🙂

Definitely going to check out all of these books... besides art supplies books always bring me so much joy. One that I really like is "the illusion of life". It's on Disney's animation process.

I got Drawing for Illustration by Martin Salisbury this week and I read it all in two days. It's a huge book but I couldn't put it down. Really inspiring stuff and I've been doing some observational drawing from life after reading it.
