@Jeremy-Ross so fun! I want to thank you for bringing light to this new aspect of illustration to me I knew it was there but I didn’t know how to get started. I’m looking forward to bringing some art to life!

          Certainly @Asyas_illos!

I’m just getting started on this endeavor, and doing lots of research, etc., but one thing is for sure - I’m constantly creating.

I’m still pursuing children’s books, and still dream of walking into a bookstore and seeing my books displayed; however, I’m enjoying exploring other avenues of art, including surface pattern design.

Interesting thought: If a kid reads your book once or twice, it gets put on a shelf for years, or better yet - donated to a local thrift store. However, if a kid loves your bed spread and pillow designs, they enjoy your art everyday for years! Pretty cool, huh?

I’m thinking of writing a blog on my website to share my experiences.

@blackhound-rise Thanks! I wanted to capture a moment in time in this scene, but still keep it open for the viewer to decide what's happening - is this the moment right after being cursed by taking the gold, or is it right before being transformed back when the curse is lifted as the coins re-enter the chest?

I started this on one of the prompts from quite a while back and kept getting stuck on it. I resurrected it this month. It's still a work-in-progress.

Over my holiday travel, I kept seeing exit signs and this idea kept running through my mind, so decided to draw it.

@Asyas_illos I really do like this bird character. Hope to see it come to life.
Went through the website and found it hard to select patterns for kids. But i did notice there were few appealing kids type patterns I found browsing different selections. Also there is no smaller size covers 110x125 for the little ones that outgrew their sleeping bags. I think there should be a market to be found there @Jeremy-Ross

Hi all! Here's my latest. I'm starting on my first portfolio, working through Will Terry's "100+ things" and wanted to get the spot illustration knocked off the list. I used to work at KMart in the garden shop in high school. This is how we got the pigeons out! Fun times.

@rubeda @rubeda Love this idea! Great use of space. I love anything William Joyce. Dinosaur Bob was my favorite book as a kid.

You mentioned a critique -- only thing that may bring it more to life is providing more contrast around the characters. Maybe a grainy brush in 'screen' to lighten the space around them to make them pop. Would also separate the trees from behind from getting mushed in with the foreground.

Very atmospheric and a cool angle! 👏

Hi, and a great 2023 to all!
I’m currently trying to get back on some form of drawing routine.
Of course, any year for me is the year of the Pig:
                                  102AE6C9-2318-4D69-B71F-75B3C766B665.jpeg

And as usual, I’m back to irish dance related graphics, this time a solo dress design for my daughter, that I am really struggling with:
                                  0217658B-854B-4088-94BB-7F5D4A840D88.jpeg
I am ok with how the sketch turned out but all that has to be translated to clean vector for the embroidery machine, and I am a bit overwhelmed with the task ahead…😖 and I also have to do some detail for the cuffs and the back of the dress…

So I got a bit of a short notice that I was going to have a booth at Emerald City Comic Con this March, (Friend of mine gave me his). So I'm working on some of my Trolls to create a couple of little prints to sell to go along with the things I sold the last time I was at ECCC. Anyway, it's been a hot minute since I posted my work here so I wanted to get back into the groove on that. 🙂
