With eyes as keen as the owls’ and the speed, stealth and strength of a lion, the libraries books would surely be safe…

@Larue this is a great scene! I love the lighting and the scale of the griffin compared to everything else, very striking. It looks like you might be working with traditional media? I'm new to illustration and I don't know how to do digital drawing yet, so forgive me if I'm asking a silly question. I'm just curious about the different tools people in SVS are using.

                            Hi Erin,
Thanks. I come from a traditional watercolor background but am now using an iPad and procreate and just bought these digital brushes from this artist who I really admire. Just started using them on this prompt, so far love them.

@Larue Very cool, thank you for sharing. I really thought it was traditional watercolor!

@Larue I think you’re right - that would help with everything, especially the hybrid animals to help distinguish the yellow/brownish fur parts vs the feather parts. I think I’ll try color after I get feedback from htfya. Thank you!

First time making a post and submitting!! This was done in watercolor and ink, with only minor photoshop work to bring the color up from the scan. Please tell me what you all think!
