#KidLitPostcard Moves Off Instagram
-
it was officially announced today that the hashtag event, #KidLitPostcard, has officially moved off of Instagram and onto Bluesky and Cara. FYI.
They're encouraging ADs & Agents to use those two platforms instead of Instagram.

Thanks@Coreyartus!
Iβm on both!

@Coreyartus Cool, thatβs good to know

@Coreyartus I'm really glad to hear this! Simplifies our lives greatly and cuts out a lot of scrolling noise.

Good timing! I think Bluesky will be the place to be for kidlit illustrators, it seems to be one of the few platforms that don't work against artists. I even saw an art director at Scholastic (Brian LaRossa) that offered a free portfolio review/coaching session for a randomly selected person in a thread here.
Cara is in its infancy and isn't really in a useful state right now β it still boosts the already established illustration giants, hash tags show limited results; basically agents aren't going to find you there either. I think it's wise to 'save your name' there for now but I don't really see it having a utility as yet. The heart is in the right place though.

I just added my Bluesky to my signature on here. Come find me there if you wish!

I just signed up for Cara, I guess I'll head over to bluesky too. It's nice to see there are options that are against Ai.

@Mimi-Simon I just followed ya

@Jason-Crowley hmm, maybe I should try blue-sky to then. Oh man, I already see myself jumping from one to the other
