Hey I'm Sadira, a new-ish, illustration/art student and I recently did a fantasy creature for my project and hoping to get some feedback on!

@_sadira_ Hello! I love this a lot. It is very fantasy and magical. You are really good at getting animal proportions right, but there is one thing that I think you should fix. I think you should add something underneath your character to ground it , like a shadow or an indication that there is grass there. just to make it look like it is physically there and not floating. I'm probably not the best person to give advice though so tell me what you think. 🙂

@_sadira_ Ooh, a magical okapi! Are you looking for feedback on the drawing itself or on the design of the creature?

@_sadira_ Looks good! Could use some directional lighting and add shadow under the creature. Maybe add something in background to give a bit of context or story like some other creatures interacting with each other.

Alright I tried adding in some shading and bringing out the lights making them a bit brighter but I'm not too confident about it/not sure if I need to do it differently.... what do you guys think 🙂

@_sadira_ This looks better! I wouldn't change a lot, maybe a little bit more detail in the background and maybe some other magical creature with the okapi, but otherwise it looks great!
