Brand new website!

@eli Thank you Eli! I have to admit I'm bursting with pride that I set out to do something and managed it by learning new skills!
It ended up being not that complicated once I figured out a few specific hurdles, and it also didn't cost me much money O__O I'd love to share what I've learned on the way, if anyone would like to know how to do it! -
@NessIllustration Congratulations! That is an awesome step! I really like the store name, too. We are all rooting for you. I subscribed, too.
-
@nessillustration Your website is very nice. I love it. I also LOVE "SweetNess". That is so very awesome. It would draw me in to look at what you might have to offer for sure. Good work. And congratulations on a hard thing accomplished!

@jennyjones Thank you Jenny! I'm really glad you think the name is appealing, that's a really good sign!

@nessillustration nice work, congrats! Definitely feel proud on a job well done! I signed up for the newsletter at the bottom on the homepage and it was not submitting, however the one near the top in the middle worked. You might want to remove the one near the bottom.

Congratulations, that´s a major achievement!! I also set up mine in wordpress years ago, but I got help to do that - I was totally lost!
Kudos to you for taking the challenge and doing a great job.
I love your branding/logo and „Sweetness“ is both a cool brand idea and ties in beautifully between shop and website.
Is it possible that there is a mistake in the quote that you put on the page? It seems to be missing a part of the sentence to make sense, somehow.
The structure looks ok to me as a start. You`ll probably change the structure as your content and your business evolves anyhow. -
Hi Vanessa!
Your website is so lovely! I love the color palette you’re using. So light and easy on the eyes. Making it so much invitational to just stick around and peek at your lovely art. And also fun to read a bit about you! To have a face to the one creating all those lovely pieces and posting here on this forum!
I tried to sign up for the newsletter but it did not work. I went to your website via Instagram and picked the bottom newsletter sign up. Maybe the link is broken? Thought I would give you the heads up.
Keep up the great work Vanessa! Can’t wait to see how your future will unfold.
Lots of love

@smceccarelli Ahhh, yes that is entirely possible! It's a quote of mine that I translated from my native language, French... It maybe doesn't make as much sense as I'd hoped ^^'''' Thanks for pointing it out, I'll rework it! And thank you for the encouragement and kind words! And I think you're absolutely right about the structure evolving with time as may career evolves - I'm already thinking I'll want to change or upgrade when I get my body of work to where I want it to be!
@Sas You're the second to mention that about the newsletter form, but I was swamped with a deadline yesterday and didn't have time to look into it (It's stressing me out everytime I think about it O_____O) I have one newsletter form in the body of my main page and one as a widget on the sidebar, I think the widget ends up at the bottom when seen on a phone and it's that one that doesn't work, for some reason! It may not have connected properly to my Mailchimp account or something... I have to investigate O____O
Thank you so much for checking out the website and leaving me your feedback! -
Alright I think I fixed my newsletter problem! For those interested, read on (but it gets a little technical..)
From what I could tell, only the sidebar newsletter widget on the home page wouldn't work, but it did work on other pages! I concluded if there are 2 newsletter widgets on the same page, it probably causes problems and only the first displayed will work. I tried to remove the sidebar widget, but the problem with that is that all pages use the same sidebar - so if I wanted to get rid of it on the home page, it would disappear everywhere! What I ended up doing to circle around that problem was installing a new plugin called "Easy custom sidebars" that lets you create as many sidebars as you want, removed the newsletter widget on the home page, and there you have it!
