Hi! Newbie from France!
-
Hi, I’m Marine, just signed up from France!
I’m very happy to have joined the SVS community but also very (scared) impressed by everyone’s work. I feel I lack so much of the fundamentals and those classes are on the top of my (long) list.
Thought I would introduced myself : I have been a sculptor, an interior designer, a paper engineer (not all at once of course) and I recently switched to digital illustration last year. My first goal was editorial illustration but I’d love to illustrate children's books. I’m currently working on a proposal for a children’s book residency.
I don’t know how to draw with photoshop (not good with my little tablet but upgrading to an Ipad pro) so I work in vectors and then add colours and textures in photoshop. My hopes are to improve my technical skills as well as my storytelling skills which are quite weak.Anyway, thanks for reading, I hope I’ll be able to participate to the challenges and the community!
Here a couple of pics of my work : (open to any critiques
)
The first one is my only published editorial piece for a financial magazine :
The second one is an attempt to more storytelling with an environment and it's a personal 3-parts project about resilience :
