@Laurasketches Nothing to suggest, she is perfect!

Day 1!!!
-
It's really cool seeing everyone's different takes.
I often use a primary prompt list and then use some extras because I find it adds interest to my creations for these contests.
This time my primary prompt list was based on gemstones and secondary ones were based on foods, drinks and random paraphernalia. I also decided to put them all in bottles to add a cohesiveness.First one was: Amethyst, cupcake, ice cream and floral.
-
@Dima-Eichhorn I really like how you are presenting these, it really adds a nice visual touch. I'm also looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
-
Day 2: Sunfish
These fish are crazy odd looking. -
@Laurasketches I love it! Especially the detail of the "leash" on her Goby, I cant wait to see it in color.
-
@Dima-Eichhorn Yep I Ink traditionally with a mix of pitt pens and brushes, I have a few time lapse vids on my instagram.

MerMay day two: "rascal" and the very weird "sunfish" Is it a rascal move to sunbathe on a living creature while planning your next adventure? Please give critiques... planning to watercolor paint when I have a bit more time. -
I've decided to use this challenge to practice my figure drawing skills. I'm taking the proko class and still having trouble with the robo bean so thought I'd try and find some resources and robo-bean it and then try to build around it. I know these won't be great (I'm a little embarrassed by them) but I would LOVE some draw overs and tips to improve as I go. I won't post yesterdays. Just starting with day 2 I see problems but I would love feedback, PLEASE! (I'm including the resource I used) If anyone is a pro robo bean drawer I'd love to see how you would do the top half, especially. Thanks again!

Here's another try. More proportionate, I think. Especially the head. I'll try a different pose tomorrow.

Day 1 Goby. I chose a panda goby.
-
Here is my second Mermay. Based on Aquamarines with the extra prompts of feathers, stars, choc chip cookies and cake.
With these I'm experimenting with a brush pen but I feel it's feathering slightly on the watercolour paper which my normal mircon fineliners don't do as much. I'm also experimenting with using watercolour pencils for the colours but so far I'm not sure if I'm happy with the results. -
@Marsha-Kay-Ottum-Owen
Another try. I think the head is more proportionate but I don't care much for the colors and my blurry cell phone pic...it might be that my eyes are blurry. Not sure

Day 2

Day 3: Sturgeon
-
@andersoncarman You picked some tricky fish!!! I was stumped with a solution for the combo of "rockabilly" from Tom Bancroft's official mermay list, and your fishy prompts....especially because a sturgeon looks so mean (great solution from you with your warrior merman!) - I considered sturgeon merman gangs (think west side story) for a minute then gave my rockabilly mer-chic a tatt. I seriously need some free time to paint all my sketches....

So, here's another attempt at using this challenge to practice my robo bean and figure drawing. I have a long way to go and would REALLY appreciate draw overs and tips to help me along. Hoping to improve by June I twisted the merman top half a bit so I could keep the arms on the page for the most part.
