LEE PAINTS FAN ART! HOLY SMOKES BATMAN!!!
-
@Lee-White thank you for putting it in your shop! I ordered one for my boys room! ️
-
@Pamela-Fraley Thanks Pamela! : )

@Lee-White I saw this on social the other day - for me, it beautifully captures the craziness and terror lurking in Gotham, with the expressive tones and abstraction. But there's Batman standing tall facing it all. I'd be curious to see how you'd interpret Star Wars or another big franchise.
Lovely work Lee!! -
@Lee-White The podcast is not out yet, was the challenge to see how you would do Batman in your style?
-
@Erin-Cortese sort of. They were just surprised I had never drawn a super hero. Most people start out drawing when they were young, so it's a normal part of development for a lot of people. But I came to art as an adult and missed that whole thing. Also, I've never been into comics or anything and don't really like them that much. So Will and Jake had challenged me at one point to draw batman because it's so far outside my interests, history, and comfort zone.
Note: the episode isn't really about this topic, it was just mentioned in there as an aside. But I took the challenge anyway because Jake bet me a quarter that I woudon't do it.

@Chip-Valecek Can't be Robert Pattinson.....no sparkles
-
Way to keep your quarter, Lee

@Lee-White Love it.
If anyone's a follower of Lynda Barry-in her teaching, she asks her adult students to draw Batman in just a few minutes. She talks about how they all freak out, and draw very lively, simple drawings and are aghast that the drawings "look just like kids."So there must be something about Batman...

@Lee-White Great effort! Somehow the textures on the leg make him look like he's wearing pinstriped trousers... which makes it more appealing to me! I love the grittiness and the style. I'm not someone who is into purchasing fan art, but if it were more in this vein, I might consider it!

@Lee-White Great piece, love the style. Could actually see this as a graphic novel.
