AUGUST CONTEST: SUPERSTITION

This months prompt is from @Lee-White and he only broke a mirror while walking under a ladder with a black cat crossing his path, but is that SUPERSTITION. Maybe... What is your SUPERSTITION? It can be anything associated with a superstition. But make sure you do enough research to get past cliche’ options like the ones listed. If you do go with something overly familiar, it needs to have a new twist or be creative in some way. If it’s an obscure superstition, be sure to include what the superstition is!
This is going to be a good one!
Couple of details:
The contest is open to anyone. But the winners and runners up will only be selected from active SVS members.
Post only finished pieces here. Post WIP projects in their own thread.
Put your real name and forum name on the image somewhere (can be on a border if you like).

@Chip-Valecek Ha-ha-ha! some of them are really funny. For me, superstition are some old rituals which true meaning we have forgotten. In a atheistic societies of nowadays that discrediting something old and praise something new, superstition it's just a sign that we are disconnected from our roots.
Really interesting Challenge, I'll accept it.

My take on superstition. The medal won't really give him the courage to evacuate the island in front of the invaders. But maybe if he holds it tight it will. Inspired by the Netflix movie The Guernsey Potato Peel Pie and Literary Society.
I reloaded this after smoothing out the color pencil in PS. It looks great in person but did not translate well in pic form.

I thought it would be interesting to take an old Native American superstition that we now think of as silly, and to put it into a modern context. If having your photograph taken can steal your soul, that's a terrifying concept in selfie culture.
