@Amanda-Jean I am glad you took the plunge and were rewarded with a box to paintโ€”your final drawing is so cute! I especially like the catโ€™s expression ๐Ÿ˜Š

Last night I finalised color and submitted my Urban Smart Project proposal. Things may change when I actually paint, but for now I'm ok with this. The intention is to keep it simple, as it's my first outdoor project.

          2019_artforce_v01.png

I created a 3D mockup in Blender to see how it looks, and although my texture mapping skills are somewhat amateur, this is a result I'm satisfied with.

You can see and interact with the 3D mockup here: http://skfb.ly/6MN6D

          Approval is pending. Fingers crossed!

They didn't approve it.... yet. Too much 'blank space' that defeats the purpose of being anti-graffiti. So I need to revise my background.

In the meantime.... I've been toying with this style. Except I worked myself into a corner with the border and wasn't sure what to do with it, so I'm done for now.

@Amanda-Jean i canโ€™t figure out how you would make it graffiti-proof except a dark night sky, then you would have to re-work the dog colors too ๐Ÿ˜ซ
Itโ€™s so cute I canโ€™t imagine anybody defacing it with graffiti ๐Ÿ˜•

@BichonBistro thank you. Kids around my town tag almost anything. Not all of them respect or comply with unspoken rules about respecting others creativity, let alone other people's property ๐Ÿ˜ž there's been a serious spate of car vandalism going on lately. Mostly senseless destruction as opposed to graffiti.

Tagging the art doesn't happen too often, but it does happen.

@Amanda-Jean I like it! It's so cheerful! We had those painted electrical boxes in San Jose when we were living there. Are you in California?

I started on this in Procreate and I have a little lesson to share... the moral of the story being: DUPLICATE YOUR FILE BEFORE YOU CHANGE IT!!! You see, I was going to share the progress, but the image size was quite big, so I wanted to downsize. And instead of pressing one option, I accidentally exited, and so Procreate saved the smaller size. Now that's all I have to work with... I guess it wasn't meant to be ๐Ÿ˜ž

In any case, I am very drawn to using textures and especially creating a colouring pencil look lately. Never could do much justice with real colouring pencils, but digital pencils is heck yeah!

                                To be continued....

Giving the wolf a miss for a bit because I painted myself into a corner and had a hard time doing shadows on his shirt. Meanwhile, here's something else that I had fun with this morning.

@Amanda-Jean love how you did the colors on the coat and the water reflections. I love the colors you chose. I am a big fan of bright colors in art. ๐Ÿ˜€

@Amanda-Jean I just had fun looking through your art. Great stuff! I think you have a nice sense for adding textures and details without ever overdoing it.
