Hi! I've been making a series of pieces based on modern English idioms and giving them a fantasy twist. My end goal is to put them on t-shirts to sell.

This one is based off of the saying, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink." Instead it's "You can lead an unicorn to a maiden, but you can't make it stay." I feel like it needs some work. Anything you notice that could be fixed or needs work or bugs you?

And here's the three I've finished. I'm pretty pleased with them, but am always open to critique and improving!

@DreaGryphon haha love the idea!! These really made me giggle, I hope you post more here! I think what you have so far is great, I really like how the unicorn piece is looking. The strong lines on the unicorn really reinforce how hard it's trying to resist the knight's pull. On the early bird one, the bird's eye seems to be a little too far back, maybe pull it closer to the beak? Just a thought 🙂

@DreaGryphon these are hilarious. I love the early bird and the gift horse ones.

I like the humor here! For the "gift horse" expression, there is a mythical water/swamp horse monster called a kelpie. Imagining that face full of teeth on a greasy swamp horse with a cute bow on it might lean the image more towards fantasy.
