January WIP, feedback welcome

Hi guys! I started working on the January prompt and came up with the below idea and composition... but when I went back to look at the prompt I realised I completely skimmed over the bit about snow! Oops
I like my idea though so think I will just use this as a portfolio piece and not for the competition. Any feedback so far? I also added a version with a background

I love it. If you wanted to keep with the snow theme, instead of a pie you could perhaps make it a cake with a dusting of powdered sugar. The sugar could be a metaphor for snow. I like the version with the background- it really takes me into the environment of the story. Great job! Can't think of any other feedback.

I like the idea @TessaW had of making it a cake! It could be a winter themed cake with decorations? Really unique idea you have! I like it.

I love the tranparency of the curtain - nice! I don't think you need the left faucet though. I think with both they distract from the child. Is that a spoon on the table. If so, I'm not sure why. Otherwise, looking good!!

I like the change to the cake and the more articulated footprints. On the pie, the footprints looked like they would have been cut outs in the pastry (as pies sometimes have) and it took me a minute to figure out but the cake reads much better.

@deborah-Haagenson Thanks! Yeah in hindsight I don't really know why I put the spoon there Think I was just drawing kitchen clutter!
