Here's my entry - my first ever digital illustration! Had a bit more time to spend on it this month so been practising my Photoshop skills...

this is my attitude in the face of reality - "Sure, I'm fine, everything's going to be okay!"
And I want to add, I was trying something different for me - using the paper edge. The rope should bleed off the paper. I was hoping to add that tension of what happens next.

Little Lainey thought today,
That she’d be very sweet.
For her mom on Mother’s day,
She’d bake her a nice treat.

She opened up the window,
To let some fresh air in.
But Miss Lainey, she forgot.
To close the chicken pen.

To her room, she skipped away,
To dress while the pie warmed.
“Cluck, cluck, cluck”, she heard inside,
And through the door, she stormed.

Chasing chickens all around,
Lainey begins to say,
“All I wanted was for mom-
To have the perfect day”…..
