APRIL CONTEST: Lisa's robot invention worked great, until it did this...
-
@carlianne I love the fantastic use of colour and the beautiful rain bouncing around in your image. The robot looks so deliriously happy, love it!
-
@Lorna-H thanks so much Lorna! ️️️

@carlianne @Heather-Boyd These are from a children’s book series as told by Grandma Chicken (Mamie Poule) - I guess kinda like Mother Goose. Quick google search of the illustrator: https://www.gautier-languereau.fr/auteur/herve-le-goff
My wife (from Paris) didn’t grow up with these stories - I think they’re quite recent.

@Lorna-H Many many thanks!
-
@johnchoi so cute!! Thanks for sharing.

I had a moment of peace to look through all the entries for last month and they are so good! I just wanted to say @Coley I love this bot-horse, beautifully illustrated, as all your art is, but I also love how deliriously happy the horse is about the apple and how unaware he is of the fate of his rider Great image!
-
@artbytra - the colours on your painting are so beautiful, I couldn’t stop looking at all the gorgeous colours and details! I love how you manage to layer all your textures. Have you ever done a post on your process? I’d love to se how you go about constructing your image. Did you work solely digitally or use traditional mediums too when making this image? The colours are so vibrant. Awesome!

@Lorna-H Hey thanks for the kind words! This was solely a digital painting. I worked in Procreate on the ipad and I had used a rectangular digital stamp for the robot head, and enlarged that. Also used a more square stamp for the robot hand and manipulated that, the stamps I found are online, just how you would go about buying digital brushes. I had previously made a sporadic multi-colored digital painting with lots of pinks, blues, purples, and greens. Varying my digital pens thickness and using various scribble marks. And I Had that on a Color Burn layer above my inks. Added details after I was happy with the colors coming through. Hope that helps, and thank you again for the nice comments!

@Lorna-H thanks so much for the kind comment ️. I love the way you explained the expression he/she has and being oblivious to the rider, it's one super happy horse bot lol!

@bradyblack Thank you!
-
@EliaMurrayArt - I'm sorry as my week seems to have disappeared and I meant to say much earlier that WOW your image is OUTSTANDING!! I just love it! I really enjoyed watching all your WIP posts, so lovely of you to share all the steps involved and like others have said I think a book of this type of modelled image would be fantastic! I do appreciate that this would be an enormous ask time wise, but your end product is just superb! I just want to step into the picture and have a look around and touch all the objects! You are extremely talented, well done!!

@Lorna-H aw Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed following along. Your comment makes me so happy!

@gavpartridge I got an XP-Pen too. Love it!

@Heather-Boyd - I just found a great website that has tabletop games (some are free to play and subscribers get more content & options). It's called tabletopia.com.
I tried a new game called Sub Terra - it's not a resource management game, but it was a fun cooperative game. I haven't looked through all their games yet, but I'm looking forward to playing more.
Let me know if you want to play sometime!

@Miriam cool I'll have to take a look, probably near the end of this hectic month. Thanks,
-
@Coley Love this one! Horse is nicely rendered and very appealing, and I love the humor of cropping out all of the rider except for the boots. I was sure it would make it into the final cut.
-
@Braxton thanks I'm really happy yours made it, it was a very cool concept!

I know it's over, but I wanted to complete my process by posting here.
