      Moving right along, here are my wolves color studies. I eliminated a few, but you can still see them. I really like 2 best aesthetically but am afraid it's too rosy for the isolation theme. Lovely sunset but it's not late enough yet to be howling at the moon! Maybe 3 works, being bluer?

      I can take other ideas and also adjust saturation and value, but want to move on to the final today or I won't finish in time. Also, this may not be the final composition and placement of animals. I'm going to set it up in a way that makes it easy to change those out last minute.

      Thank you for your opinions!

        Hi @LauraA, I agree that the building in 2 is too rosy and bright. It’s taking my eyes off the wolves. Personally, I like 3. Maybe you can add some dark red fur on the wolves?

          @Jeremy-Ross Thank you! Yeah, I keep trying to get some color in those wolves without losing the dark value that silhouettes against the sky. It's hard! And maybe I'll lighten the sky in the end, like in 4. But I'll get some color in those wolves eventually.

            I personally like the rosy colours of 2! It depends on the feel you're going for. If the wolves are sadder that they're apart, then a bluer composition might be better. But if you're showing that even though they're separated, they can still howl together, then I don't think the warmer tones are a problem 🙂

              I was definitely drawn to number 2 as my favorite first, but I agree with your point about it being too rosy. If you're going for a more dreary feel, the colors of 4 seem to work the best, but I like the contrast of the buildings in 3. If you want to try other colors, I'd be curious to see how purples would work in the scene.

                @LauraA I like 3, it feels like a cool image to me. I can read the focal points more in 3 as well.

                  @LauraA I’m leaning toward 3 too - hard choice though 🙂

                      Woohoo! I love a consistent vote. Three it is, or some variation thereof. I'll save 2 for another occasion. May even create one. Now to work! Thank you!!!
