MAY CONTEST: ISOLATION
-
Hello everyone, this is my first post in the forum, first contest submission and first photoshop drawing. It's so nice to see such a supporting and uplifting community. I'm taking a few classes on SVSlearn and hope to engage more with the forum soon. Congrats everyone for the amazing job, it's so inspiring to see your drawings!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Thanks very much!

There are many things good and bad about isolation, some important and some trivial.
-
Ok, enough tinkering with it. I think I'm ... done.
-
Can I ask how the top 16 are chosen? Are they just picked out by the judges (Will/Jake) or is it based on votes, etc?
-
@carrieannebrown they are picked by the judges. They choose based on how well the the piece fits the prompt, composition, rendering, and of course, what they like. The final winners are chosen by votes squared off against each other in a bracket ( like “The Sweet 16”.) That’s my understanding. I hope it helps.
-
@JennyJones yes, thank you! I was just wondering about whether upvotes made a difference or if it was solely down to the judges

Hi. A few times now, near the end of the month I’d be like: okay next prompt I will definitely participate - thinking my first entry here should be perfect, and I’d need that full month to finish. Note to self: stop whining, start shining. #finishednotperfect
Here’s my take on isolation - a blissful voluntary one.
-
Isolation doesn't mean you can't visit magical, fantastical places, right?
-
Here is my tribute to Andrew Wyeth and his love of isolation in his pictures. With a kidlit flair.

Hi Everyone! Here is my entry for isolation.
Our cat likes to meow at the wildlife he'll never be able to reach.

Hi @Camila, you might want to post this in the Mermay contest too! https://forum.svslearn.com/topic/9416/featured-student-special-edition-mermay/10

Hi guys! Here's my take on isolation...a small sorcerer deep in thought in another world
-
Spending Isolation with the best husband and staring at one of the worlds natural wonders every night. Could a girl ask for more?
-
Isolation at it's finest...in the pantry in my special pantry-camo outfit, trying to hide from my three kids for a few moments of peace...with chocolate and an SVS podcast, of course!
-
I thought of the poem by Edward Lear, “The Owl and the Pussy Cat” who sailed off in a beautiful pea green boat... I tried using textures and light this time. Beautiful entries everyone. Lots of great ideas this time.
-
@JennyJones I love the colors and atmosphere of this piece!!
-
Whoof! Under the wire just in time again.

Hi everyone! This is my first post. For me isolation has been a time to get back to drawing like when I was a kid - I would isolate myself in my room and let my imagination run riot..!
