NEED HELP- Having Cintiq Troubles Again

@Judy-Elizabeth-Wilson it was still turning on this morning but when I checked on it to night, it was completely dead. The screen is not turning on, the power LCD is not lighting up, nothing.

I would definitely just buy a new cable, even if it was in water for a second, I don't think it would be a good idea to plug it into Cintiq (especially if one of the heads of the cable that goes into Cintiq was in water). I'm not sure whether this might have damaged the Cintiq, but I hope evrything works out with a new cable.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Hi, I am reading your case and I am terrified. I hope it is only the cable. Can you find someone in your area to borrow cable from.? So you can see where is the problem. A year ago I hade some cat trouble with my sintiq cable and I ve made research and I found that it cost around 80 euro. But you must me sure that the problem is in it. That makes me positive that is it the cable that when my son's ps4 cable died it looked that the console whas was dead. But it was the power source. ASK for cable from someone to check it or if there nearby some wacom center. Good luck.

Maybe there is a computer shop close by where you can bring your laptop and Cintiq, and ask them to try some of USB-C cables that they sell. I did that once when I was trying out to get 4K, the people in the computer shop gave me multiple cables to just try them, without having to actually buy them if they don't work.

@Shyam-Sailus hi! Yes, I’m already using the HDMI cables. It was the usb-c that fell into the water. I just bought my cintiq last February so I think the warranty still stands.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Flood water can dirty connections too, so worth getting some Isopropyl to clean contacts on devices. Also the evaporating water can dampen electronics even if they don't go in the water just from the moisture in the air.

Whenever my camera ever got soaked in the rain after photographing storms, I'd use Isopropyl because it dries out the moisture as well as cleaning it of corrosive liquids. I know people have suggested the rice trick but I think this is a bad idea as liquid/dirty water corrodes quickly. Rice will not stop this. Wiping it with a towel would be more successful. Anything that absorbs liquid is good!

A dehumidifier would be a decent investment as it removes the excessive moisture in the air from water damage. Wall sockets might have water in too.
