Portfolio piece feedback please

@powsupermum I know the feels I really do! I am a stay at home dad and I have been struggling to find the time too. Does your family support your artistic endeavours? if you don't mind me asking...
-
@Kori-Jensen oh yes but the kids don’t really get it yet. They are 2, 5, 7
-
Not sure why but the characters seem to dilute the focus point. Maybe fewer fish or blurry fish way in the background? Also the Y shaped, yellow coral on the left is creating a tangent and a window frame that pulls the attention. Maybe shorten the left branch of it.
-
@Kim-Hunter thanks for pointing that out I’ll fix it also I have added more fish and backgrounds fish as well I’ll post an update as soon as my iPad battery charges a bit!
-
Just gotta figure out a skin tone and tank color! Thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice I took as much as could into consideration! I’ll post the final soon
-
Ok all finished thanks again to everybody! It’s too late for changes but if anybody has any final thoughts I’m open to hear them still
-
@powsupermum yah mine are 2 and 4 lol
-
@powsupermum hi! Great piece but you’re still not hitting that rule of thirds.
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz yah I couldn’t make it happen with this one. moving the mermaid was not possible for me at this stage of the illustration and with my inexperience doing digital. Can only hope the next one I’ll make it!
-
@Nyrryl-Cadiz Does this help a bit you think?
Try to fit portions of the mermaid within the boundaries of these squares and she'll probably look very good. Like have the fin fit in the middle bottom square and the upper torso at the upper middle square.
-
@Michael-Angelo-Go I would have liked to move her but I just don’t know exactly how to use procreate fully, that’s why i can’t move her. I had already combined all my layers so when I move her she’s kind of transparent and to be honest I just don’t want to spend anymore energy on this one erasing and replacing color. To me it’s a done deal, All I can do at this point is to learn from my mistake and try and hit that rule of thirds with the next one. Thanks again to everybody, I’m still really pleased with how it came out!
-
@powsupermum hi! That’s alright. What’s important is that you’re aware of the issues so that you can avoid them in the future. This is mostly how I learned as well.

I’d really love a critique from the big guys @Will-Terry @Jake-Parker or @Lee-White is there a place where that’s possible? Besides critique arena that is.
