@NessIllustration Thank you for making this video. I hope you will make more videos in the future that will help make our work look more professional and prevent the same mistakes with my first published book XP

@Michael-Angelo-Go People have seem to really enjoy this one so I'm looking to make more! What are some other things you wished you knew before you made your first book?

@NessIllustration Have you already made a video covering 'work for hire'? I think you did but I cannot remember.

Not to throw my author under the bus... but maybe you should make a video about situations when an artist is forced to draw things they don't like or are completely out of their comfort zone. The green title wasn't my idea, I was just completely doing what my client wanted and didn't complain or argue with her. She also wanted me to draw a character out of my usual style and I felt like the final result was unflattering. I now know better and feel less afraid to offer my input šŸ™‚

Hey Vanessa, I’m just brainstorming ideas for you...... I bet loads of people go to YouTube and search up their big overall dream, ie ā€œhoe to illustrate a children’s bookā€ or ā€œ how to publish a children’s bookā€ etc so anything in keeping with that theme probably racks up the views!
I have also been hearing about NFTs every time I turn on the radio it seems lol. I don’t know if that’s a topic. I actually could be way off base because I know very little other than I heard about them on radio and they’re digital art lol.

@Coley My most viewed video so far is my illustration process for my first picture, and it has so many views because it's getting found in search a lot... with the search phrase "how to illustrate a children's book" šŸ˜‚ So you are REALLY on the money with your assessment and advice!! It's a really good idea and I'm taking notes!

@Michael-Angelo-Go I think both versions look good to be honest, it's really just a matter of personal taste at that point. The smile looks a bit creepy on the final version sure, but I actually think the hair looks better! Your way of covering an entire area with a texture is a bit overwhelming (especially a repeating pattern). With textures, less is more. Just a few curly lines here and there would do the job, no need to plaster it side to side! But yes you're absolutely right, it's important to stand up to our clients and (politely) offer our input. I'll make a video on that!

@NessIllustration I always try to be diplomatic and polite with cooperative clients. It's the unserious ones that make me a bit snarky.
