Informal Clip studio demo for my SCBWI group
-
Hi everyone!
A ways back me and a few other forum friends ran a few sessions where we showcased our process.
Vids for posterity! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1KOpkKmrEdDEaEOGiVLxDa8f76BC4_sX
My SCBWI illustrator group meets every other week and I've been asked to run a demo on Clip Studio. I'm gonna set up a comic page and show my process from start to finish (much like my other vid).
I'm curious, is anyone here interested in joining us? (PM me and I'll send you the link
)
Is there anything in particular YOU would want to learn about clip studio if you were to partake?
It's a pretty awesome program (particularly for making comics) so I thought I'd float the offer!
edit The meeting is Saturday at 10AM Pacific

I would be very interested in this thank you. I’ve been a lifelong user of illustrator and Photoshop and have been trying Affinity Designer on and off. I love Procreate but it has it’s limits. CSP looks really interesting and would love to see your process. I will have a look at the link of your existing video tomorrow too thanks.

@Braden-Hallett yes!!! Please.
-
@Braden-Hallett this is an awesome resource, thank you for sharing, Braden!
-
@Braden-Hallett I'm interested for sure. The main thing I want to learn about is the comic panel workflow in action!
-
@Braden-Hallett thanks for the offer! I would be interested, however timezone differences may not make it possible for me to join live (I'm in Catalonia, on GMT+2).
I don't do much digital (yet) but I've been using ClipStudio and Krita. Both are great programs. (I lean more towards Krita of late because it's open source and can run on my Linux which is what I mostly use these days.)
Definitely interested in ClipStudio, comics, and also in learning about other people's processes.

Yes... not necessarily Clip-studio-specific, but I'm interested in how you plan out your layers.
Also to what extent you rely on specific "digital world" helpers like stabilization, [perspective] grids...
And whether you manage reference within Clip studio (i.e. specific tools for it). -
@Braden-Hallett That is cool! Is the showcase still running? Will there be new sessions?

No, sadly. This is just a one time thing

I'm glad to see others here who use Clip Studio Paint. I prefer it much more for illustration and artwork than Photoshop or Illustrator.

it's surprisingly good for illustration, especially if you rely on solid linework. So many nice little tools to make life easier!

Workin' on a sample page for what I'm gonna show on Saturday. Mice are jerks.

@Braden-Hallett Hi, could I also get the link? I am very interested in watching your demonstration.
-
I would love to take part too. How do I PM you for the link? @Braden-Hallett
-
I've sent PM's to everyone who was interested to far
-
I would love a link

@Braden-Hallett That was a fantastic presentation! I can’t wait to dip my toes in. It’s funny, I know I looked at manga studios, but felt out of my depth with the manga aspect, lol. So glad you shared this awesome resource!

I'm so bummed I missed it! My husband was like " I want to go get breakfast" so I said "okay but I have to be back by 10am" .....So several errands later we made it back home at 1:30
Will it be uploaded somewhere I could still watch it? -
I joined the demo at 10:05 from my yard sale and it was so bright outside I could not see my screen to mute my self because there we a bunch of people talking over our loud radio, so I panicked and fled. LOL
Looking very forward to watching the recorded video.
