        Love him! Maybe the full eyes - it might be easier to show a range of expressions?

          He is so cute! I feel like the dot eyes are more engaging and relatable somehow, and i'm trying to figure out why. It might be just because he's looking directly at us? Anyway I vote for dot eyes.

              @Janette @ruth @Valerie-Light @K-Flagg Thank you for your responses!

              Omg, it was a really difficult decision because I like both types of eyes! I ended up going with the detailed eyes, because I felt like it gave me more control of his expressions. (especially the goofy ones.) The dot eyes will be saved for another time!

              Here's where the sketch is at right now. I'm having so much fun with him.

                @baileyvidler Hi Bailey, your bat is such a creative take on a furry mammal. 🙂 It's really looking amazing and has so much personality. I was just thinking of how good it is and hoping that it qualifies for critique arena when the thought came to mind that maybe you could make something part of the image that shows the scale of your bat? I think the rules said something about the character being the size of a kindergartener, but i'll have to check again. If it's for the contest that is, otherwise it's perfect as is. Just don't want such a great piece to be disqualified if it's not clear that the bat in your world is really big, or the kindergarteners are really small. 🙂

                Thanks for sharing your process.

                  @KathrynAdebayo I think you're right, so I replaced the peach he was sitting on with a crate. Hopefully that fixes the sense of scale. Thanks!

                        All of his poses are really expressive. I just noticed him spotting the butterfly while he is upside down. Love it.
