      Hello friends,

I’m thinking about joining the contest this month and started this sketch of a little panda. If you think of any advice to share, I’d be very happy to learn from you. I’m hoping that the sketch follows the prompt well and that the little guy is unique enough to be interesting. All thoughts welcome.

Worked on the sketch some more… this prompt has lots of requirements. Does it look like this would tick all of them? Thanks for any advice you feel able to offer!

@KathrynAdebayo I love all the expressions you gave to Albert. My favorite is when he's hugging/dancing with the girl in his arms..and if I were a panda, of course I'd take some bamboo to bed for a midnight snack. I can tell by the way the chair bows under his weight that it's one of those made of foam.

I kinda miss the stars on pajamas from the first sketch.

As far as the prompt is concerned, it looks as if you've drawn the main character from all the angles asked for and put them together with an interesting storyline. I like both poses of the panda with the blocks...there's a whole story in just those two!

@RachelArmington oh, and I like the stars too! I’m glad you mentioned that. 🙂 I’ll definitely include them in the final piece.

Thinking of trying a style like this, but something doesn’t look polished enough… any ideas to help this look more like something you’d find in a kid’s tv series?

@KathrynAdebayo Oh, the pink chalk mustache adds so much! Def mischievous! His white tail really shows up well now, nice!

I really like your rendering style so far, it’s lovely. The panda under the easel expression is so good.

@lizardillo Thanks for the encouragement. 🙂 I love your work!

Not sure if Albert is going to be finished by tomorrow… if not, it was a really helpful exercise regardless.

I think I’m going to try to finish this. We’ll see about within the time frame though. 🙂 If anyone is willing to weigh in on the change of background color I’d be grateful for your opinion. 🙂E43469F1-5D62-48B5-8CCE-509AFC47BBD2.jpeg
