A fresh start March wip
-
The prompt for March is resonating with me big time right now. Yesterday after picking up my kids from school I struck a parked car with a driver inside. No one was injured thankfully. I have never been in any sort of collision before let alone the responsible party, other than my dog passing away, I have never had a worse day. I know I am being really hard on myself and accidents happen, but still feel awful. I am so LUCKY because it could have been worse, and there worse things going on in the world right now, so I am starting fresh and doing my best to stay positive. The show must go on, with that said, may fortune and good luck smile upon you all here’s my first entry rough for this month feedback welcome of course

I'm gonna attempt to work on multiple projects at once see if can keep my style consistent. Since adapting this newer style I’ve been working in, I’ve noticed that I’ve had trouble with consistency, so we’ll see how it goes
-
@asyas_illos Lol!
-
@cayleen thank you I love it so much!
-
Some updates these have been rolling along all day. Much needed therapy
-
@asyas_illos I love your work so much, but I’m afraid I’m not getting the lucky story with the cats… I might just not understand though. The bunnies are hilarious.
-
@angelinakizz the maneki-neko are the “lucky cats statues you see in Japanese and Chinese restaurants, they symbolize good luck/fortune. While they do use black cats sometimes, in western cultures to those who are superstitious, black cats are often symbolic of bad luck. So I’m trying to have this envious little black cat sort watching from the shadows, maybe I need a thought or speech bubble, but he’s like “what do they see in him?” I’ll maybe rethink the storytelling
-
@asyas_illos ahah, that’s probably why I didn’t get it. I’m allergic to more foods than not, and can’t eat in restaurants. I’d have never seen one.
-
@angelinakizz that’s too bad, whelp ya learn something new everyday!
-
These flowers took all Night!
-
I am stumped on now to make this cat look more like a statue any suggestions? Or should it be real? I don’t know…
-
@asyas_illos I would say no outline, only shadows to define the arm and the hands,as well as shinespots that would give a smooth ceramic or marble feel… or whatever substance the statue is made from. Maybe a square based platform?
-
@angelinakizz thanks, I think I figured it though lol! it still may need a thought bubble… what do you think?
-
@asyas_illos that definitely helps bring across the statue! Try the thought bubble on a separate layer and see how it feels. Can’t hurt.
-
Ok need some opinions now, I’ve got thought bubble or just text, also the bird, squinty eye showing the action of what he’s doing ( in case you couldn’t see it) or no squinty eyes? And does the text fit, with the style or is it too indifferent?
-
Ok one down I submitted my lucky cat illo going off what my kids liked, which was with the white bubble, and the birds eyes open here’s the final.
Also moving along I’ve only got to add the speech text to the lucky rabbits foot before I finalize.
-
I’m trying to find the best placement for Lucky foots response any thoughts?
-
See a penny pick it up, all day long you’ll have good luck! Started this one today, the shadows in the back will be ill defined people and their spots are not certain yet.

Hey guys I’m wondering if you think I should keep the original or try this blur out. It’s the first time I’ve played with it. My aim it to only color the kid and his dog everything else is going to stay monochromatic values pretty much.
