So I started a totally new piece for this prompt because I just wasn’t feeling the first one I did.

There’s a lot I’m trying to convey in this one image and it’s proving to be pretty tricky. The gist is that that the boy has dropped the anchor and the rope attached to it has caught his grandad’s peg leg in the line. I know the leg looks like a plunger at the moment but I think coloring and rendering should clarify that it’s a wooden peg leg. Let me know what I could do to make this more readable! @Griffin this looks great I think it’s readable but I think showing part of the anchor would benefit you a bit I keep looking around for a fishing pole like he’s snagged grandpa’s leg on the hook

@Asyas_illos already added the anchor before I saw this! Definitely helps but I think I might have to use the fishing rod idea, I think that would make for a much clearer image. Thanks so much for your feedback!

Here are two versions with the fishing line idea. Are these more clear? A1287659-1FA7-4CB3-9FA5-13B1D8D2540D.jpeg 5A446B1D-BA19-4889-9BB2-82A3C53058D2.jpeg

@Griffin I like the last image you posted. It is very clear what is happening with the fishing rod. I think it would be fun to have the grandpa who lost his peg leg look very off balance, like he’s about to fall in the water. It’s a fun idea for an illustration.

@Griffin I agree with @juliemillardart. Right now the situation is low-stakes. Grandpa is going to be left on the boat with the peg leg on the hook and the kid will have to reel it in, problem solved. If it looks like grandpa is going to fall out of the boat, that's a much stronger story. Maybe something like this:
