Starting on Storm WIP.
-
@AngelinaKizz The angels, bowling pins, and birthday cake all feel very unusual in the setting of the storm. Putting something in an environment it doesn’t belong in is a great way to come up with creative ideas but in this case I find myself having a lot of questions and not finding answers.
Simplifying the concept down to just a few key elements could make it easier to understand the story
-
@Patricia-Dishmon oh great idea! Thankyou!
-
@AngelinaKizz I like this idea. This is actually an old reference that goes back to the story of Rip Van Winkle by Washington Irving. Except it was ghosts not angels. I think the idea works except I would lose the cake and give them feathers in their wings for readability’s sake. Great take!
-
@chrisaakins tell me you’ve seen the wishbone rip van winkle episode!
-
Another WIP for storm.
This one I chose to go with life experience… saying goodbye to my childhood best friend. It’s probably not the most suitable childrens illustration though. -
@AngelinaKizz a lot of my ideas (drawing from personal experiences of storms) keep taking a dark turn as well. This is beautiful but heartbreaking.
-
Aiming for cute now
-
Another idea for storm…. Is it readable?
-
@AngelinaKizz I really like the mouse and firefly concept because of the quiet warmth of the scene vs. the surroundings. ou could emphasize the contrast even more, like they could be sheltered in a sturdy half of a flowerpot while the wind blows the rain and grasses outside.
-
@jenn thanks so much!
-
@AngelinaKizz I like this image the best because it has storm plus the lovely characters and more feeling and warmth which contrasts nicely with the cold of the storm.
-
@PenAndrew thankyou. I think the mouse is my favourite too. I don’t think I’ll be able to pull them all together by the end of the month, there’s a lot going on here.
-
@AngelinaKizz Yes I suggest you finish the one which is like the kind of illustration you really want to do in the future.
