    Hi awesome people!
I am working on a mini project, hoping to make a product I can sell at the end of it.

The idea is for me to create 1 illustration each week from an idiom in the English language. The card set can then be used as learning/memorization aid or writing prompts.

I will be sharing my progress, some WIPs, some finished arts in this thread. Feedbacks and thoughts are always welcome, especially as I am now still at the early stage

This week's art - a piece of cake.
I didn't want to just draw a literal piece of cake, so I decided to draw a painter painting a piece of cake.

These are snapshots of my process:

@Melissa-Candrasaputra I am actually on week 5 now. So this is finished art #5. Actually I need a vote, yellow shoes or brown 👞?

@Melissa-Candrasaputra That’s such a neat idea for a project, and great that it’s one you can reliably make progress on over time. I have such a hard time coming up with personal projects and sticking to them!

My vote is for the brown shoes since the yellow ones pull attention away from the cake and off to the edge of the page.

@patricialamas thank you, I have the same feeling that the yellow shoes pulled too much attention away. Brown it is then!

On personal project, I needed something small that I can do incrementally. A children's book is too much for me to handle right now and I needed something I can finish in a day or less. So here it is! Plus, I'll have a sellable product at the end of the project which is nice.

@Melissa-Candrasaputra Agreed with Patricia, the brown's better and let's attention stay on the cake. Very cool to see your process and great work!

Card #6: Birds of a feather flock together.
I am struggling with text placement on this one...

Card #7 Beating around the bush. Honestly I am not 100% happy with this one, so any critique on how to make it better is appreciated cos I know I am likely going to rework it.
