Doing the inking part of this drawing and I’m starting to wonder if the big bear character is too big and maybe the composition would work better with a smaller character? I’d like for this to be a vignette piece for my portfolio and I’m realizing compositions behave a bit differently in this format. Any other feedback is also welcome of course!3F71DA28-E0B3-4002-B030-59C29767463E.jpeg

@Griffin I love how engaging (and cute) your characters are! Lovely inking too.

I don't think the bear is too big at all. On the contrary, I think a large character is needed to balance the 3 smaller ones on the other side. Looks great to me!

@Rebecca-Jensen thank you! That’s a good point about balancing a big character with smaller ones

@Griffin gonna agree with @Rebecca-Jensen -- it does balance out the composition. Plus, the different sizes of the characters add more interest than if all were similar sizes.

You might even consider adding a tiny character (maybe a bird?) to the left between the mouse and iguana. It will add even more diversity in size and an odd number of characters makes for a more interesting composition.

@Melissa_Bailey I was actually planning on adding a realistic sized mouse there! I think it’s fun to have a story that has both anthropomorphic animals and regular ones.

@Griffin of course! I always appreciate seeing it from the eyes of others myself.
