After my bad experience during last year's showcase where a bug on the SCBWI website showed that I already uploaded my entry images but in reality, they weren't, and which I only learned about after the deadline preventing me from joining the contest all together, I kinda lost faith in SCBWI and the showcase.
I wasn't expecting to win then (or even now) but I was hoping that by joining, I can get my work in front of potential clients. I was crushed when I learned that I was excluded from the showcase. Not to mention this all happened during my birthday. I ate my birthday cake in tears (this really happened). I posted about it here in the forum so if you're interested in that train wreck, just dig around the old posts. lolz
If it weren't for @Asyas_illos posting about the SCBWI conference and the other rabbits here in the forum, I probably wouldn't have joined (As I did the last 2 conferences). Or if I did, I would've used my old pieces and not bother making new ones which most likely would lead to different a outcome for me.
That is why I am very grateful to everyone here. I wouldn't have won if it weren't for you guys. From the bottom of my heart, thank u so much!!!!
