Clouds WIP
-
I wanted to use one of my characters, Na'lani, since this prompt is centered around clouds.
I am trying yet another style. I am really trying my best to learn away from line-work just to be a little more versatile.
Feedback is most welcomed. I am currently dissecting the lines in the work to center it on the big bubblegum balloon.
I plan to bring the clouds a little more forward and recede the background clouds.
I am also exploring ideas to bring in a story within the story. So far she is having fun with the clouds. Maybe bring in some dark rain clouds in the background. Left side for leaving the struggle or right side for the upcoming struggle.
Thanks you for your considerations and advice in advance. Always met great advice.

Hi @frankiiij ! Cute concept and nice colors/textures.
I agree with @Stephanie-H that it was a bit hard to read the balloon at first. The texture is very similar to the clouds so at first, I thought it might be red smoke or something. It might help if the balloon had a smoother texture so it contrasts with the fluffy clouds. I also think of bubble gum as being a bit pinker.
Just a thought to help push the bubble gum idea (feel free to ignore), what if you have a second (or third) kid holding onto her hand and attempting to blow their own bubble?
I like the direction! Excited to see where it goes.

@frankiiij I agree that I don't read the balloon as a bubble gum balloon. That said, I'm not sure it's important what kind of balloon has her floating through the sky.
If it is for you, though, I like Miranda's idea of another character. Or maybe she has a bubble gum wrapper in her hand? Or maybe she's putting more gum in her mouth? Or maybe she's blowing another bubble?
It also took me a second to read the balloon separate from the clouds. Because of the textures/rendering right now, I'm seeing them all as sky/clouds. That could just be because you're not finished, though. Or because I can only see the top of the image when I open this window – it clears up when I scroll down and see her holding the bottom of the shape. It also might not be a big deal.
Very cute idea, though, having her float in the clouds.

@miranda-hoover I love your positivity and creativeness. The feedback in this community is always top notch. I am continuing to render and bend it to my will so to speak. I am looking forward to how it turns out also.

@KevinTreaccar All great feedback. I am thankful for your honesty. It is so difficult to communicate through art sometimes. Especially, when I have already educated myself on what i have in mind to what is actually interpreted. i am so thankful for this platform.
