@JessicaLinnEvans really cool illustration. I'd recommend only using 3 or 4 values and breaking it down strictly into foreground, mid, and background. Once that is established you can further add values to each layer. The trick being "can you tell what's going on when really zoomed out".

Studying the way rabbits move
I am playing with Frame animation and thought wouldn't it be cool to make a short GIF!
Anyone have experience doing this?Creating moving images is on my radar...
