The MisAdventures of Winston (webcomic)

On February 14, I premiered a webcomic named The MisAdventures of Winston. Winston is a french bulldog who spends his days with other animal friends in the forest. My muse is an actual french bulldog named Winston who lives with my friends, Keith and Avril in the UK.

Keith showed us (we are part of an artist group) pics of Winston and I fell head over heels with him and started drawing him. One of the other artists suggested Winston should have friends and suddenly the webcomic was born.

I just uploaded the second strip. I’ve several more stories and am trying to do a strip per week at least.

This is beautifully illustrated and colored. I particularly love the stump the fox and Winston are sitting on. Haha.

Are you looking for any thoughts, ideas, critiques with this? I have one thought/idea but I don't want to step out of place. You're doing a fantastic job as it is.

@crispalomino Oh good, yeah this is just a little thing and it could just be me. It's more of an idea than a critique but something about the word bubbles seems to really fight my eye for attention over the images themselves. Of course you want your eye to go to the word bubbles. But I can't help but wonder if the bold line that makes them might be a bit better suited if it was thinner, or maybe if they were actually hand drawn as to not be so perfect in their form and shape and sort of blend in with the more organic nature of your drawings.

Anyway, just a thought, I don't have a lot of experience with word bubbles or graphic novels, etc. So take this with a wooden barrel of salt, haha. Just something that caught my attention.

@Blitz55 Actually I have been thinking the same thing. So yes, will be changing it. I hope to put the stories into a book at some point so will go back and change these first ones as well. Thank you for the feedback.

@crispalomino OH the coat! And his intelligent eyes! LOL SOOOO cute. They are seriously the funniest breed I think. Super intelligent, tenacious and spunky. And his name! Couldn't be a better name. My sister has a friend who has a Frenchie, his name is The Sheriff. And he acts like a Sheriff! HA HA HA

Getting ready to paint this week’s Winston comic. @Blitz55, I remembered that Clip Studio Paint was good for comics and used it to do this week’s balloons. I think it works better. More control than what I was trying to use.
