I need questions for YouTube videos
-
Hello, everyone! So I finally started a YouTube channel named Nyrryl Cadiz after putting it off for years due to fear. I already have one video up. It’s a bit clunky imo but I’m still getting the hang of video editing, voice recording and all those fun stuff. I’d be ecstatic if you guys check it out. Link below
I was planning on making videos answering illustration related questions soon. So if you have any, please DM me or leave it down below and I’ll try to answer it to the best of my capabilities.
I look forward to all of your responses. ️ thank you so much in advance

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Congrats on your first video!! I left you a comment and subscribed
I took the liberty of checking out your video set up with my TubeBuddy extension:
We can see that your SEO score is very low, and that's in big part because you used no tags. Tags are how your videos can get found in search. You can used a free extension like TubeBuddy to do keyword research to find phrases that are searched often but have low competition. Then you repeat these phrases in your title, description, and tags. This gives you a higher SEO score and makes your videos more searchable
I also recommend taking a look at the best practices at the bottom. Adding info cards, end screen, pinned comment and chapters all help your channel.
Best of luck with your new channel!!

@Nyrryl-Cadiz congrats! I find the hardest part of any illustration is the first half. Deciding on what to draw, the composition and storytelling. I'm always interested in how other artists tackle this part of the process. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this on one of your videos. You've grabbed yourself another subscriber!

@NessIllustration thanks Ness! This is very helpful. I didn’t know this was an option. I’ll definitely look into it.
-
@MarcRobinson thanks Marc! That’s definitely an interesting question. I’ll definitely note that down for a future video. Thanks again!

Congrats on your video! Here's a possible question: I was intrigued with your color keys and you mentioned that you skipped that step in this piece. I think it would be interesting to see your next video of a speed paint done with a color key first, with a discussion of the results.

My question: What is your favourite type of illustration to do? Your least favourite?
Video looks great! I love watching process vids with ppl talking over them

Hello @Nyrryl-Cadiz! I am so glad you've finally started your own Youtube channel and that you're on your way to creating a name for yourself.
Something that has been on my mind, and probably something you can make a whole Youtube video on is perhaps career switching/trajectory?
I would love to hear you expound about how you went from Engineering to Illustration and how you began your art journey or illustration career despite not having an educational background in a related field.
After 2021, I took a break from the illustration industry because I did not and still have not figured out my place in the commercial art world. Animation, illustration, YA novels, etc. I am working with a popular architecture firm, but it has been a very stressful experience for me working in a corporate environment, and now my job security has recently been at risk, leading me to believe I might be let go in the next coming months, despite not even being with a year with them.
But anyways, maybe you could offer advice on how people with different backgrounds can find their place and careers for their artistic passions.

@Michael-Angelo-Go thanks Micheal. Very interesting question indeed. One that needs its own video. I’ll try to come up with my own two cents of the matter
