Dear fellow rabbits, I was wondering if anyone can recommend realistic gallery pricing for an original watercolor. I searched our topics for "gallery pricing" and came up dry.

My horseshoe crab piece, which several of you helped me refine, was accepted into a juried exhibit at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. (Woohoo!!! My first juried exhibit!! Thank you svs friends!!!)

Located in Plymouth MA, I imagine that the exhibit will command a decent-sized audience because of the historic location. PCA recently hosted the NE Watercolor Society exhibit.

I am looking for a realistic price range appropriate for my novice level. The piece is 14"x21." I am not expecting to get the full time + materials. But I do have to spend money for professional framing, 30% commission, and I also want to feel good about letting it go, if someone does actually buy it. Of course there is the "perceived value" that I have to maintain, which the guys are always mentioning in 3pp. So at least half of the factors are subjective. I used a couple of online "calculators" but they gave a range of $200-$1000 which is totally not helpful. If anyone has exhibited and sold originals in a gallery, I would appreciate any "pro-tips."

      Thank you in advance!! ❤

@jenn I did a quick search and someone suggested to do $1 per square inch plus however much framing cost. You could do $0.50 per square inch but $1 might make more sense if it has sentimental value to you. Basically however much you are okay with parting from it.
